Band Books for Music Students!

Help me give my students band books for their instrumental lessons. "Habits of a Successful Middle School Musician" books will help my students learn their fundamentals on their band instruments.

My Students

Our school has a high poverty rate, and often my students are coming to school with limited background experiences and resources. My caseload is ever-changing as students move in and out of the district and as I evaluate new students with significant deficits. The students that I work with have a wide range of abilities and needs. My students come to school ready to work each day and strive to do their best, despite the learning and/or behavioral challenges that they face. They make me proud every day because of the effort they put into their learning and also for being the caring and positive students that they are.

My Project

My band students have a wide range of backgrounds and learning styles. Since the pandemic has started, some of my students have not been able to play their instruments due to CDC reccomendations. Now that the reccomendations have changed and they are able to play again, some students are lacking skills they would have learned in the previous two years. The band book, "Habits of a Successful Middle School Musician" will help students learn the fundamentals on their band instruments. It will aid in teaching them scales, chorales, lip slurs, long tones and rhythm excersizes. All these skills will create a solid foundation for my students to build upon.
