Bakers Gonna Bake and Makers Gonna Make for Family Events
My students need a Patty Cake Multi-Treat Baker, mini easels, watercolor paints, and canvas panels in order to experiment with food science and art while preparing for family involvement activities.
I serve our youngest kiddos in a blended preschool classroom. I strive to create a preschool environment that will allow my students to actively engage in hands-on activities that are purposefully planned to ensure optimal development. Real materials that students can manipulate and explore are vital for learning for this young group.
Many of my students come from families living significantly below the average poverty rates for our state.
I have students that demonstrate delayed development due to a lack of essential experiences, and students with exceptionalities that require additional learning opportunities in order to encourage continued development. Preschool students are always eager to learn and my classroom provides access to learning opportunities that students may not have access to outside of our school.
My Project
I would like to have my students engage in planning special events for families to show off their work. I would like students to be involved in the planning and making process to the fullest extent possible.
With the Patty Cakes Treat Maker, easels, and paints my students can prepare the snacks, and display their art projects for our special family events.
I believe our parent events will be even more meaningful for both students and families when the students are involved in the entire process. These materials will support growth and development in all learning domains as my young students prepare and present snacks and projects for their families.
