My students come from families living significantly below the average poverty rates for our state. I have students that demonstrate delayed development due to a lack of essential experiences, and students with exceptionalities that require additional learning opportunities to encourage development. The NAEYC states, "Early childhood programs need to provide even more extended, enriched, and intensive learning experiences..." All domains of children's development and learning are interrelated. My students are eager to learn and my classroom provides learning opportunities that they do not have access to outside of our school.
