This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many students begin middle school facing challenges that go beyond academics.

For many of my scholars from low income households, access to basic necessities, such as backpacks and personal hygiene items can impact their confidence, sense of belonging, confidence, and readiness to earn.

Starting middle school is a major transition, and every student deserves to feel prepared, cared for and valued. Providing these essential items helps remove barriers to learning while promoting dignity, self-esteem, and school engagement.

With your support, students will have the tools they need to start the year with confidence and experience warmth and care from their school community, and focus on reaching their full potential.
