Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are 95% students of color with the majority being 1st generations students. They receive 85 additional minutes of ELA instruction due to them being 2 -1 year behind their reading grade level.

These materials not only will help them stay organized, with homework assignments, but also with basic needs that they might not be able to afford.

Because our class is a pull-out class during specials, most supplies stay in their content classes. These materials will help them be successful without straining their parents' pockets with extra purchases. These materials will be distributed between 10 classes from 3-5th grade Reading Intervention. Teaching supplies, Kleenex Tissues, folders, and laminating sheets/machines are resources used to assist our scholars with flashcards being sent home or Goal Cards placed on scholars' desks. These materials are essential in ensuring scholars have a successful year.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
