We used the Cricut to cut out durable, easy-to-recognize icons that help students transition between activities with more confidence and independence. As you know, in the state of Texas, students take the STAAR exam at the end of the year. As 5th graders, it is the first year that they are expected to take 3 STAAR exams. It has been an honor to teach these students the science curriculum that IDEA Public Schools provides. Students work day in and day out on math, reading, social studies, and science. This cohort has been the hardest working cohort yet in the past 5 years that I have been a teacher. I just knew they deserved the world!\r\nIt is with your help that I am able to reward them for their hard work! We have been working on previously taught skills as independent practice. Students keep a tracker on their lowest performing TEKS. Based on those lessons, they earn stickers. Every 2 stickers earns them a prize!
