Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach and Ethnic Studies class and we have been learning about race, ethnicity, culture and social justice.

For this project, students will be able show identities through an artistic expression of themselves.

Students will paint themselves and things that represent who they are and engage critically with what they have learned this year about themselves and the different communities they belong to.

This is an ethnic studies class so I would like to display their art on our hallway as a way to build a sense of belonging within students at the school.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
