Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach students from West Baltimore. I have 9 Special Education students that need a lot of help accessing the general education curriculum. Like most students, they too have their own struggles.

This year, I want my students to have some materials they will need to help them build their knowledge.

My students like to join in debates and they try to support their opinions with some reasons they remember from the text read to them. This year I want the text to be always available to them and not to rely on me to read it for them.

My Project

Through these tablets, my students will have access with the text whenever they need to. This will also help them to be more independent in finding the text and they will be able to practice their reading while having the text read for them.

With the use of the tablets the students can proceed with their work and it lessens the time being wasted as they wait for the teacher to be available to read for them the text.

The students will be helped to be more independent and will help the students understand the texts better.

Through this project my students will have access on different learning styles, some students thrive in tactile, some are visual and still some relies on audio or on what they hear so that they can learn.
