Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"Teachers who love teaching, teach children who love learning." As I enter my 20th year of teaching, I continue to follow this mantra in my classroom. I teach 28 wonderful students who come from poverty. My students are from varying ethnic backgrounds. Most of them come from homes that are struggling financially.
My students are extremely motivated, and they are genuinely respectful of each other.
They are lovers of learning, and I am truly grateful to be their teacher this year. They come to school with smiles on their faces, and they are eager to learn. We need new books to use in our literacy centers.
My Project
My students need white chart paper, colored sentence strips, and wipe boards to use in our classroom. The students will use these materials to write stories, create sentences, and work out addition and subtraction word problems. As a teacher, I have used the chart paper, sentence strips, and wipe boards throughout the school year to model things for my students.
My students are the leaders of tomorrow.
These materials will encourage my students to take the lead and model things for their classmates. I want them to model how to write stories or sentences. I want them to show the other students how to solve word problems. These materials will make learning fun!
