Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school family consists of children that range in age from three to five and two teachers. They are eager to learn and come from diverse backgrounds. Even though their backgrounds are diverse, they all have one thing in common and that is that 99% qualify for public funded Pre-K. To qualify for this program, their families must meet low income guidelines. Our district is made of up students in which 70% meet the national free and reduced lunch guidelines.
My students come to school each day excited to learn through hands on experiences in which their creativity emerges!
They thrive when given opportunities to build, create, and figure out how things work.
My Project
The materials provided through this project will serve many purposes for years to come. The paint, paint accessories, watercolors, glue, and various collage materials will provide students the opportunity to create multi-media art projects. These student led projects can range from simple 2D paintings and drawings to elaborate 3D structures of their own imagination. These materials will enable them limitless possibilities for their artistic creations.
The STEAM materials such as the STEM kits, force and motion kit, snap bots and dinos, will allow them to use their creative and higher order thinking skills to figure out how things within their environment work.
My students are very inquisitive and these items will allow them to experiment and come to conclusions on their own.
