Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

During our Guided Reading center time, my kids have a variety of options to help them improve their literacy skills. I have found that allowing young kids to create art to demonstrate their comprehension of literature has helped so many kids develop a love of reading expression.

This method of engaging students in literacy is generally practiced more at the beginning of a school year.

Although, I usually have a couple of children needing this support for longer. Now that the end of the school year is upon us, I am noticing that our offerings are diminished. Your support helps me offer new, innovative ways to help kids connect with literature.
