This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Help us on our quest to become expert readers! My students need a listening center that will further lead us on our path to find fun reading motivation and practice!

My students are always wanting to read and I am always trying to find ways to further encourage their reading abilities and love of reading.

Unfortunately, the school my students attend is one that does not have the resources available to supply us with a reliable listening center that will not only aid in our reading excitement, fluency, and motivation, but help us to also learn organizational skills as well!

My Project

If my students were able to receive the listening center and CD/tape player, my students would be able to practice their reading skills either by themselves or as a group every single day! They would be able to hear stories and songs that we are working on in class, stories that connect to our Social Studies and Science themes for the month, hear a story that interests and motivates their love for reading, or revisit a story they need further help on. This listening system also allows me to teach the children the important skill of organization as it has hooks for the children to properly put their headphones away and to nicely stack their tapes, CD cassettes, and books. This not only helps them to be responsible for their area in the classroom, but helps them to practice being organized, which is a valuable skill to have as an adult.

With your generous donation, my students will have a tool that they can use to help them become a better reader for the future and take pride in taking care of equipment that gives us enjoyment and pleasure as readers.
