Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Many of my students are newcomers to the country, immigrants, and the first generation American born in their families. There is also a high percentage of English language learners and families affected by poverty. My students are eager to grow and learn, but often lack the resources needed to make those strides. They are learning the language while simultaneously learning content.
The students absolutely love science and art and are excited to learn and grow their imagination through hands-on STEAM-related projects!
My student's are filled with creativity and learning at varying levels; hands-on, creative, and real-world applicable projects allow all the students to access, enjoy, experience, and succeed in achieving success in school.
My Project
My schools strives to provide a supportive learning environment to encourage all students to have optimal achievement, regardless of disability, socioeconomic status or learning styles.
My students will greatly benefit from hands -on, active learning to expand their opportunity and experience of STEAM concepts.
At my school we do not have art, science or technology teachers, it falls on the classroom teacher to provide our students with enriched and accessible science and technology lessons as well as artistic and creative outlets. Your donations of KEVA planks, LEGO bricks and other creative supplies will allow my students to expand their knowledge of important skills and concepts while expressing their creativity at the same time!
