My Students

A typical day in my classroom varies from period to period. We try to accomplish as much as possible with the limited time we have together. Class discussions are very big in an English classroom setting. By the end of the year I hope my students have gained the confidence needed to show growth.

My students are teenagers who are searching for lots of love and attention.

They need direction and people to help guide in life as well as in their academic life. Most of my students are really low level and find themselves resisting the gift of learning. They tend to be insecure and confused about life and where they tend to fit in the lives of their families. My school has been undergoing some transitional phases within the last few years from a big comprehensive high school to having smaller academies within the school. I think with the proper execution of leadership it can produce students that are able to learn despite their environment.

My Project

I think that we can use the materials to cover a variety of activities. Our use of technology in the classroom is limited to availability and mobility in the school. We will be able to use to an iPad to work on individual projects as well as research information on the spot without having to reserve and wait for the computer lab or availability in the library. We can create assessments and view data that will inform us on instructional direction for each individual student. We can also use it to connect it to a projector to generate notes and show power point presentations etc.

It provides the resources that we are lacking that will enhance the engagement process in the classroom.

With so many changes in technology growing so rapidly, it is almost unimaginative for a classroom to function without any technology based on a geographical location in the school building.
