Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Currently, my class will be one of four kindergarten classes at our school. I was able to meet some of my incoming students since we have a summer school enrichment program established which was extremely necessary as our school suffered devastating damage after Hurricane Harvey.

Last year, our school had to double up classrooms and teach in one hall of classrooms.

In spite of this year's long challenge, the administration, principal, teachers, and students pulled together as teams and persevered magnanimously.

These student love to practice reading on their own, being read to, doing hands-on activities, such as using manipulatives, art, and pretend-play.

My Project

This two sets of informational books will be a great asset for our listening station in our classroom. Animals are an extremely interesting subject for young readers. When young students finally grasp making letter-word connections, they need to read as much as they can to become better readers.

An external hard drive will be a great tool for our class as it has a 2 terabyte memory storage and can hold a lot of class resources.

These type of resources are not just audio/visual but interactive tools that will benefit all types of learners. This will help me differentiate our lessons.
