Animal Adventures Every Day

My students need classroom supplies for a hermit crab, fish, and guinea pig habitat.

Responsibility, effort, problem solving, writing, scientific observation, measurement, and teamwork are just a few skills that will be focused on with the Animal Adventures grant. I teach a first grade, single gender all boys class. These boys are starving for hands on experiences that will teach them the skills they need!

Boys find deep interest in science related topics. They also thrive on hands on learning and observation. Our classroom pet snake, Spike, has shown this to me first hand. Each week we feed Spike a live mouse and the discussion and writing that comes from this experience has shown me that the boys would greatly benefit from a variety of Animal Adventures in the classroom.

The addition of a hermit crab, fish, and guinea pig habitats in our classroom will allow more opportunities for writing, observation, and connections to academic subjects across the curriculum.

Your donation will make it possible for my students to gain the hands on experiences they are desperate for! These materials, in combination with instruction and library books, will provide a stimulating environment where students are making connections and learning. Help me make every day is an Animal Adventure in our class!
