Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

This is my first year of having the honor of teaching a classroom full of 1st graders! My students are sweet, creative, full of energy, and always ready to share a smile. They love books, storytime, hands-on learning, and showing me when they have figured out a difficult problem or mastered a new skill.

My Project

As we begin to move back to some normalcy, my students are taking ownership of their learning. Having student-led anchor charts in the classroom will trigger connections with the initial lesson. The materials requested will be used to help my students reproduce our classroom anchor charts in all subject areas!

Anchor charts will help my 1st graders "anchor their learning" as we create and capture the most important content and relevant strategies.

The chart paper will be used by me to make a model for the students to follow. The markers will be used to allow the students some creativity when making their own anchor charts for their own personal resources.
