Anchor Charts for Reviewing Concepts and Student Collaboration!

Help me give my students adhesive anchor charts to post ELA and Math concepts for review and student collaboration!!

Ms. Jimenez PS 200 James McCune Smith
New York, NY Grades PreK-2

My Students

The demographics at my school consist of 65% Black students, 30% Hispanic or Latino students, 2% White students, 11% English language learners, and 33% of students who have special needs.

Most students come from low-income households or live in foster homes and shelters.

Many families are single-parent households and working families. We are a Title I school in Harlem. All of our students receive complimentary breakfast and lunch daily. The students at my school are a mixture of different types of learners. My students come from a diverse community.

My hope is for my first-grade students to have all the supplies ready for learning in school and in real life!

My Project

Anchor charts are a huge part of our daily instruction during literacy and math block. We use chart paper for group activities such as literacy discussions of learning objectives and for modeling writing strategies.

Having anchor charts will help students to review ELA and Math concepts and also use for student collaboration on sharing ideas!!

During the different units of study--Math, English, Science and Social Studies--many anchor charts are created to support students in their learning process and synthesize key information/learning. The anchor chart paper will provide students the opportunity to build background knowledge, and provide scaffolding about the information presented in the unit of study. In other words, students will have the opportunity to observe, and record observations and learning about the different units of study, which can be revisited when needed as posted within the classroom setting.

These adhesive anchor chart papers will serve the purpose of creating diagram and pictorial visuals for students, to post around the classroom during our different units of study.
