My Students

Over 90% of the students at my school receive free or reduced-price lunch, and we are considered a Title I school. Students don't always have access to resources that would extend their learning. I want to do all I can to help my students achieve their highest potential. My students are truly amazing, and they love to learn. They are excited about school and their contagious enthusiasm for learning drives me to do more!

Students don't always have access to resources, and I want to help bridge that gap.

I want to inspire and motivate my students to be all that they can be! When they graduate from my school, I want them ready to venture out into the world and make their dreams come true.

My Project

I am looking to get an Apple Watch that can be used to increase student understanding of new technology and provide an opportunity to monitor and improve individual health using Science. My students will get to experience a piece of technology that they might not otherwise have access to. They will be able to conduct experiments in the classroom using new and authentic methods. My students will be able to participate in experiments that monitor their heart rates, ECG readings and GPS Tracking. This data will immediately be transferred to another Apple device for analysis. My students will take turns wearing the device and track their own activity levels so that they can better understand their own body processes and analyze the information

Science is all about collecting data and If we look at the definition of science, we can say that science is the study of the natural world through systematic observation and experiment.

Authentic observation and experiment is where we will be collecting our data. Students will be able to make health changes using the device and compare and contrast results through analysis with other students in class. This project will give students an opportunity to utilize data that is focused on their current health behaviors. Students will be able to use their results and compare their findings with other students in class.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
