Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom is a 4th grade ICT classroom. There are two teachers, including myself (as the Special Education teacher).

This type of setting is a great way for students to learn and grow because they are getting the benefit of having two teachers in the classroom, yet there are still so many things that we need.

The school is in a high-poverty area, so many of my students do not have many luxuries. Yet, they always come in with a zest for learning and love doing research.

My Project

The materials in this project, such as the Lysol wipes and tissues are everyday essentials and are excellent to have on hand for the start of school. The Lysol wipes will help to combat germs in the classroom, thereby making a healthier, cleaner environment for my students.

The Scotch packing tape, chart mounts, and the chart tablets will be helpful for creating an environment where anchor charts can be displayed for student reference during lessons.

The classroom timer will be essential for students to be able to work independently by being able to pace themselves according to how much time they are given to complete a particular task.

Finally, the privacy boards and the storage rack will be extremely helpful and used frequently in my classroom. Students enjoy using privacy boards because it helps keep them from being distracted during tests or other assessments. The pencil sharpener will be helpful because the one I currently have in my classroom is very old and does not work efficiently.
