My Students

My students come to school each day with a smile on their face and a eagerness to learn new things. Every morning we set goals for the day. Many of them want to achieve greater sucess in Reading, Writing, and Math. My students also live in a low-income community, and do not recieve the academic support at home to achieve their hightest potentials.

While, the administrative team is supportive to it's staff, lack of funding has had a tremendous negative impact on resources that are available to teachers and their students.

It's these rescources that are a vital part of a students a success and obtaining their academic goals.

My Project

About 90% of my students are functioning one or more below their grade level average. Therefore, there are many interventions that must be completed on a daily and weekly basis to ensure students are given the oppurtunities to close the gap in their education. In order to improve their learning and academic success, earphones are needed for them to listen in an audio book center. These materials will also be instrumental to their success when taking their yearly assessment.

Limited distractions are an instrumental part of a students success.

These headphones will provide the isolation students need, especially those with difficulities staying focused, to demonstrate their learning and become more efficent readers. Whether following along with an audio book or particpating in their yearly assessments, students need the quite astmosphere to showcase their learning and abilities.
