Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are in a dual immersion charter school. As a teacher, I try to provide my students, primarily "Spanish Experts", with as many visual aids and extra tools as possible.

As an all-inclusive charter school, we emphasize biliteracy and the arts, by administering hands-on materials to make learning equitable for all diverse learning abilities.

With this Arts and Language Development rich environment, it is important to provide students with engaging lessons in science as well, so they can understand the world around them. Help me provide engaging lessons.

My Project

School life in a pandemic is rough for students and staff. It has been proven that art soothes the soul. I would like to promote Social Emotional Learning while also educating in the Visual Arts. Art is tied to emotions.

When students have the opportunity to express themselves through art, they are less likely to act out inappropriately.

Through painting on canvas, the students will learn how to express themselves through color blending and value. Help my students find the song in their hearts find their way to the canvas with these art materials.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
