The execution has been messier than what I envisioned. When they saw the binders and I told them why they were there, students felt perplexed, asking if this would then become a resource for exams and nothing else. To be fair, this is a valid question; if you've never seen the value in storing your work and notes besides as a resource for exams, then this makes sense. To this day, I don't think I've done the best job in fully explaining why we should store our solutions, or even how to study using these collections in our binders. On the other hand, \"done is better than perfect,\" they have something and now have exposure to creating a portfolio of sorts, even if it was just \"stuff problem packets I to binders.\"\r\n\r\nWith winter break, I am grateful for time to better plan what I would like to have in these binders that will benefit students and make sense to them. Your contribution is helping us build a warm and inspiring reading environment, and we appreciate you deeply for being part of our students' learning journey.\r\n\r\nReceiving these books has made such a meaningful impact on my students. They now have stories that reflect who they are, books that help them feel confident, seen, and proud of their identities. They've also discovered hilarious and engaging stories they genuinely connect with, which has helped them enjoy reading more than ever. These new texts also support important reading skills such as identifying main ideas, making predictions, understanding character feelings, exploring themes, and building strong vocabulary. In our classroom, reading includes shared read-alouds, independent reading time, and small-group lessons where students choose books that interest them, talk about what they notice, and share their favorite parts. Several students have especially connected with the books, some feel represented for the first time, while others are loving the funny stories that make them excited to read. My students and I are incredibly grateful for these resources—they have already made a noticeable difference in our daily routines and learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe fidget toys have become an essential tool during independent work time. Students who struggle with focus now have a quiet, helpful way to channel their energy without disrupting the learning of others. The variety of party favors and snacks have been added to our classroom reward system, giving students something positive and exciting to work toward. These items have transformed our incentives into moments of genuine celebration.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite classroom moments so far has been using the Mr. Sketch scented markers during a class norms refresh. We sat together as a community and discussed what kind of classroom we want to build for the rest of the year—safe, respectful, creative, and supportive. Students used the scented markers to create colorful posters that reflect our shared expectations. The scents made the activity extra fun and memorable, and the bright visuals they created are now proudly displayed on our walls.\r\n\r\nBy contributing to this project, you've helped bring joy, comfort, and enthusiasm into our space. These items may seem small on their own, but together they have encouraged teamwork, built confidence, and strengthened our classroom culture.
