My students and I are incredibly grateful for these resources—they have already made a noticeable difference in our daily routines and learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe fidget toys have become an essential tool during independent work time. Students who struggle with focus now have a quiet, helpful way to channel their energy without disrupting the learning of others. The variety of party favors and snacks have been added to our classroom reward system, giving students something positive and exciting to work toward. These items have transformed our incentives into moments of genuine celebration.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite classroom moments so far has been using the Mr. Sketch scented markers during a class norms refresh. We sat together as a community and discussed what kind of classroom we want to build for the rest of the year—safe, respectful, creative, and supportive. Students used the scented markers to create colorful posters that reflect our shared expectations. The scents made the activity extra fun and memorable, and the bright visuals they created are now proudly displayed on our walls.\r\n\r\nBy contributing to this project, you've helped bring joy, comfort, and enthusiasm into our space. These items may seem small on their own, but together they have encouraged teamwork, built confidence, and strengthened our classroom culture. My students feel seen, supported, and excited to come to school each day—and that is because of you.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in our classroom and for helping us create a learning environment where every child can thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1758806720048,"projectUrl":"project/ready-set-learn/9354009/","projectTitle":"Ready, Set, Learn!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ocampo","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9428771_orig.jpg?crop=2721,2721,x302,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1720747238465","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9428771"},{"teacherId":4182413,"projectId":9428084,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for helping my new class start out with the materials they need to begin the school year. Many of them couldn't believe that they now had the choice to sit where they felt most comfortable to learn. It truly felt like a celebration of their learning space.\r\n\r\nSince adding flexible seating, the classroom environment has become more focused, collaborative, and calm. Students are more engaged and take ownership of their learning. They've learned to make choices that help them stay on task, and they love moving around to work with different partners or groups. The change has been amazing — it's not just furniture, it's a shift in how they feel about learning.\r\n\r\nRight now, we're working on writing and illustrating our own narrative stories. The flexible seating allows students to spread out, brainstorm together, and find quiet spots to revise their drafts. It's been wonderful watching how the new setup supports creativity, focus, and independence.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for helping make our classroom a more comfortable, welcoming, and inspiring place to learn. From TIME for Kids fact-filled texts to fun stories like ¡Los Zombis no comen verduras! and Latinitas, these books have kids buzzing with excitement. They're especially hooked on the animal-themed ones, like Los tipos malos en el conejillo contraataca, and it's awesome to see them pick up new science vocabulary and tie what they read to our lessons on animals and culture. I've got kids who used to shy away from books now grabbing them during free time, eyes wide and totally into it, that spark of curiosity and freedom you've given them means so much.\r\n\r\nReading time is a blast in our class. The kids dive into silent reading or team up in pairs to share stories, really focusing and bringing the pages to life. Books like A Kids Book About Being Inclusive and Mi Familia are helping them get a bigger picture of different cultures, while Frida Kahlo and El viaje de Yenebi a la escuela get them talking about who they are and what they can overcome. The cabinet has been a huge help in keeping our materials neat and organized, making it easier for both students and myself to quickly find what we need. Recently, during our narrative writing project, students were able to pull mentor texts directly from the shelves and return them with excitement, creating a smoother and more enjoyable learning process for everyone.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, their faces lit up with excitement—they immediately began spinning the bookshelves to see all the books available, and many commented on how \"cool\" and \"easy to use\" they were. It felt like the library became theirs in a new way. Moving forward, we will continue to use these resources to support our upcoming research projects and reading groups, where students will be able to browse independently and choose the books that best match their interests. The addition of our new printer has truly supported our students' learning needs by allowing us to provide them with timely resources, personalized materials, and opportunities to showcase their work in print. From practice sheets to project visuals, having the ability to print on demand ensures that every student has access to the tools they need to succeed. The printer has also given us the chance to add small but meaningful touches to our classroom environment, such as printed visuals, reminders, and student-created posters that brighten up our space and encourage ownership of learning. Meanwhile, the shredder has become an essential tool for maintaining student privacy, allowing us to safely and efficiently manage sensitive documents while modeling responsible information handling.\r\n\r\nWhat excites our students most about these tools is how directly they benefit from them. They take pride in seeing their work printed, and it has boosted their confidence to see their projects displayed around the room or sent home to share with families. The shredder, though a quieter addition, has also sparked student curiosity about responsibility and privacy, opening up conversations about why protecting personal information is important. Several students have especially enjoyed the opportunity to create class decorations and project materials that are now printed and displayed, which has fostered creativity and collaboration.
