Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from diverse backgrounds. I teach diverse populations, including mainstream English Language Learners, students with learning disabilities, dyslexia, ADHD, as well as students coming from single-parent homes or migrant children living with relatives other than their parents. Some are economically disadvantaged and aren't able to bring all supplies needed while others are able to bring all supplies Their lives are uncertain and unpredictable outside of school. Due to these circumstances, many of them lack the prior knowledge to be successful in school. Regardless of their situation, my students come to school with a smile on their faces and eager to learn.

My Project

My fourth graders and I love exploring new educational websites to integrate technology into our classroom. With the help of an MacBook, we will be able to gain access to educational videos and learning websites that will in turn help them develop the necessary skills needed in our world today including financial literacy.

Having a classroom of children with such diverse backgrounds and learning styles, a MacBook will help me successfully teach the Common Core standards in a variety of ways including the study the history of money, research about early forms of currency, US Mint, and financial literacy.

I am excited to help my students become confident in their learning and to explore the world around them with the MacBook. I need your generosity to help me teach economics in my classroom. I have high expectations, and I know that my students can one day be a big asset to our economy.
