Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This laptop will be used in the classroom by my students as I further develop their technology skills. Most of my students do not have computers at home. In the classroom, they are exposed to the use of iPads but they are not exposed to laptops or computers. This project will allow me to begin to teach them how to use a laptop in an independent center.

This laptop will expose students to the necessary technology skills of using a computer and typing their stories at an early age.

Research shows the importance of students being exposed to STEM activities in order to be successful in their future careers. My students are sponges and just need the tools to explore and learn in order to be successful.

This laptop will be used as an independent center to introduce students to typing their final stories to publish. They will also be able to participate in various games and activities such as recording themselves reading using the document camera to publish videos to share with the school. I am excited to be able to bring this to the classroom for my students since it will be the first time many of them use a laptop. They are always so intrigued by mine and now they will have one to learn on and use as they develop their basic computer skills.
