Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a Title I school in Las Vegas, Nevada, which means that 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch daily. Every day, students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom.

More than 60% of our students school-wide are reading and writing well below grade level.

I am looking to keep things engaging and provide my students with a meaningful learning experience.

My Project

I would like to fund an Apple MacBook Air for my classroom. As technology continues to become an integral part of education, I would like to continue to progress with the times. I want this MacBook so students can check out our classroom library books, participate in learning programs, and have interactive centers in class.

This project will enable my students to become proficient in technology while learning to be responsible for expensive equipment.

One of our classroom jobs will be a "Tech Support" and it'll be their job to document classroom life to share with parents on Dojo, submit to the yearbook, and so I can create a slide show at the end of the year. I will also be using a program that allows students to check out books from my personal classroom library so they can enjoy them at their leisure.

Please help me make my classroom more "techie" while teaching my students to be responsible!
