This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are very unique and passionate about American Sign Language. They need the tools as far as the lamp to do "signing time" with their peers as that part of the classroom is usually darker due to reduced light in the classroom when students are working. My students are always in need of pencils and paper due to our 1 to 1 county, they rarely use paper so they don't bring it to school. Unfortunately, due to my classroom only having two outlets, it makes it difficult for students to charge their Chromebooks. I tend to use paper and pencil in class to alleviate this issue. On our SmartBoard, students are able to practice their receptive skills with the language and the wireless keyboard would allow the students to pass around the keyboard and mouse to type in their responses on the board without getting out of their seats during the lesson. We play games and have a very interactive and hands on classroom.
