This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a preschool teacher, I am fortunate that I get to work with the cutest and most fun tiny humans in our school building. What I love most about my job is the unconventional and highly motivational learning activities we get to utilize because we have none of the pressures of high stakes standardized testing.

Research has proven that it takes someone over 400 repetitions to learn new information in a traditional way but only 10-20 repetitions in a hands on play based experience.

My students and I do a lot of work in small group stations. We engage in our content standards through hands on manipulatives and art based activities. These supplies such as colored pencils, construction paper and glue sticks will enable us to make our learning meaningful and fun. In the past we have used construction paper to make everything from a letter book exploring the different letters of the alphabet, to counting activities and crafts and even independent writing time. Please help us restock and refresh our art supply cabinet.
