We use the art canvas's for a variety of holiday themed crafts to give to their parents. This past christmas we made handprint reindeers and for valentines day we painted our canvas's blue and glued on our pictures and some heart stickers so it looked like we were blowing hearts and kisses. We use the colored pencils daily for our letter learning sheets where we color pictures of things that start with certain letters and we used them in free centers for art and drawing time.\r\n\r\nWhile the cleaning supplies like hand sanitizer and kleenex are not as much fun for the kids, we love having those items on hand as well because the one thing 4 and 5 years old's are good at doing is sharing germs. The glue sticks have been used almost daily during our small group stations and the stick on jewels and googly eyes are a wonderful addition to our drawing and writing station during free play. The biggest impact we have had so far though is the colorful Pom poms. I have spent the last week turning our dramatic play center into a flower shop complete with colorful \"seeds\" and during the construction of this play area I have fielded about 4 million questions about when it will be open and ready for play. Already I have been able to create some wonderful displays for our hallway that allow me to hang up their artwork and school projects so that they can proudly show off their work. We use this colored paper weekly during our small groups to make things like letter crafts and other masterpieces that go with our learning targets and seasonal objectives. I have big plans already to create some animal name puzzles for our study of animals this month and a valentines gift for their parents next month.
