This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school, I see that my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. I am looking to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My students are creative, clever, and very spontaneous.
They like to move, read, and love lots of positive attention. Many of them are being raised in single parent households and receive a free breakfast and lunch. From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom, I focus on their potential and growth. I may not be able to control their home lives; however, I can control their experiences during the school day. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hopeful to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence.
My Project
My students LOVE science. They are so curious about how things work and exploring new ideas. Tom's of Maine inspired me to write this project because they provided a match offer for Environmental Science projects. Yea!
Having great weekly experiments ready to go will make it so much easier to teach science.
These lessons have been tested and have all the necessary items. My students will love having hands on experiments to help develop their science knowledge and deepen their understanding. We will explore our way through Life Science, Physical Science, and Earth Science. They will be able to go through the scientific process with the science journals.
