My students need an Echo to maximize engagement in the classroom through technology. Students can use the Echo Dot to complete classroom functions and create a more student centered classroom environment.
Students in our school come from a variety of different backgrounds and work together in our classroom to learn and grow! Our school has a large population of students from a low socioeconomic status and is a Title I school. In my classroom, we work together often in cooperative learning settings in order not only ensure academic retention of skills, but acquisition of social skills as well. We work on building a classroom climate filled with empathy and understanding to facilitate lasting friendships that bridge the gap of financial diversity and family background.
It is my purpose as a teacher and educator to grow and learn in order to encourage growth, confidence, and creativity in my classroom and meet the needs of my students.
Despite coming from a life that fails to meet the basic requirements for daily living, my students strive for excellence, work hard, and learn the value of giving their absolutely best effort in order to meet their goals.
My Project
Having an Echo will also encourage a more student led and choice centered environment in my classroom.
Having an Echo will not only help increase student engagement in my classroom but will allow students to have a larger leadership role in daily classroom activities.
By utilizing the Echo, students will be able to complete research, ask questions, and will also be able to utilize different tools to set up classroom activities. I can specifically use the Echo buttons to increase student engagement during classroom games and activities. Students can as Alexa to check a math problem, to turn on quiet music, and to turn on an online stopwatch. Students can also use Alexa to google different questions and turn on brain breaks. I want a students engaged in learning and Alexa can help make that happen!
