Please help me give my students more for their after-school tabletop gaming club. Social engagement through board games helps students escape digital screens, fostering meaningful face-to-face—interactions, teamwork, and communication skills in an engaging and immersive environment.

My Project

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, prioritizing social connections has become increasingly crucial. To address this need, allocating resources to support the sustenance of our tabletop gaming club for students would be essential. Entry-level board games such as Uno and Connect Four are the foundation for fostering face-to-face engagement, communication, and teamwork – crucial skills for socialization. Additionally, the club's interest in fantasy narratives encourages the need for starting player books such as Dungeons & Dragons, Starfinder, or the new Marvel Roleplaying books that enable more players to join in. By investing in these board games, we aim to create inclusive spaces where diverse student communities can come together, express themselves, and build lasting friendships. These tabletop gaming sessions will serve as a therapeutic escape from daily stressors and encourage immersive storytelling and friendly competition, providing students with a unique avenue for social interaction. Cleaning materials for the club's classroom is also helpful to keep things safe for students with vulnerable immune systems as they continue to attend. In contrast, COVID-19 continues to persist to a degree. Ultimately, backing the tabletop gaming club represents an investment in socializing, resilience, and cultivating genuine human connections among students during the state-COVID-19 era.
