Our school is a Title I campus where many students come from challenging home lives and look to their school as a place where they can expect consistency and support.
When my students enter our classroom, they know they are in a safe place.
We focus on taking chances and making mistakes as ways of learning. We tell each other to try your best. When something is a challenge, we practice. We push ourselves to go beyond what others expect from us. I know they are excited for me to bring new and interesting things to the classroom. These students come from all different backgrounds and skill levels. These skills and backgrounds really help to create a unique and fun classroom.
My students have lunch early in our school day and are hungry before they head home each day. I ask families for snack donations, but teaching in a Title I school there are many families who can't afford to send in snacks for the class.
Your donations will provide students with snacks for each afternoon so students can focus on their learning rather than their hungry tummies.
Earlier in the school year a company donated water bottles to all the students since our drinking fountains are turned off for safety with COVID. I plan to let students decorate these with the stickers so everyone's water bottle is different.
