My Project

My students are hard workers who need a little extra support with reading instruction. My goal is to teach them literacy skills while also instilling a love of reading. On way I try to make reading fun is by running an after school reading club for struggling readers. At our club we read rich literature and play literacy games.

My students are very hungry after school, so this project will allow me to give them all a healthy snack to start off reading club!

We know that growing students need plenty of snacks in order to stay focused. When they aren't focused on being hungry, they can focus on the task at hand instead. These healthy snacks will make our after school reading club that much more fun and engaging!

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
