My Students

My 210 students are situated in the east end of Contra Costa County, a diverse population of students and families. My 210 students are located in the East Bay area of California, about 33 miles from San Francisco.

Demographically diverse, my students are from a variety of backgrounds.

The racial makeup of Brentwood was 34,969 (67.9%) White, 3,389 (6.6%) African American, 333 (0.6%) Native American, 4,051 (7.9%) Asian, 202 (0.4%) Pacific Islander, 4,964 (9.6%) from other races, and 3,573 (6.9%) from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 13,779 persons (26.8%).

My students have been raised in diverse households, and I want to harness their interest in technology and media to increase their skills for college and careers.

My Project

This project will help enhance my classroom and our project based learning.

Help me add inspiring African American role models posters to my walls, and the supplies for students to research and create their own projects and art.

My Social Studies brings history to life with media, current events, and interactive conversations. My class is built on equity, engagement, and challenge. With these resources I can implement creative engagement that requires students to build skills and experience learning in a more interesting way than traditional instruction.
