My Students

Most all of my students come from a low-income/high poverty background, and many struggle with huge gaps in academic knowledge. I have children who come from all sorts of backgrounds and because of this, they need the extra love and support from all the teachers in which they interact with. Being located in the heart of the city, we have a high transient population and receive students all throughout the year. These students come from all over and range in their academics.

My students face many challenges ahead, but throughout all of this, they are still little bodies who have a mind of their own.

They have their own dreams, goals, and wishes that one day I hope to see them succeed. This is the future generation of our society. School is the future of the kids and providing them with anything we can enhances their ability to reach their goal and provide for their future.

My Project

Having new books to add to our classroom library would help expand my student's reading interests as well as help advance their abilities. I have a wide range of reading abilities in my classroom. Because of this, I need to have a variety of leveled books to meet their needs.

Being in a new school and grade level I have a limited amount of books to give my students.

Adding new books would mean the world to them and show them all the new adventures they contain in just right books. Books are the way to creativity and engaging in their imagination. Reading is the key to their success.
