This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I took over the Advanced Placement Statistics classes a year ago. I was surprised at the age of the calculators my students were using. The calculators are about 10 years old. They have had a long life but they are beginning to fail. In the last decade, the TI-84 calculators have transitioned to rechargeable batteries. My classroom calculators still require me to buy batteries.

My students are doing great things.

Last year, we had two of the three highest scores on the AP Stat exam in our county. I want to provide my students with every tool to help them pass their advanced placement exam. They are determined to succeed; I want to ensure their calculator works as hard as they do.
