Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is typically full of eager students who are ready and excited about learning. This year we don't know what to expect. I want to make my class run as smoothly as possible by having clear procedures and steps for my students. This year in particular, will need to be calm and warm so that my students feel safe and secure. Many have never been away from mom or dad. Our school is a Title I/Renaissance school that is made up of many English Language Learners. The majority of our students are from low-income families, 91% of our students qualify to receive free or reduced-price lunch.
Although my kids face socioeconomic challenges, they come to school every day willing to learn.
They are enthusiastic about learning new things and starting a new adventure. They are very caring, thoughtful and full of questions. The growth that they make is amazing and it is the foundation for the rest of their school experience. Each year I am excited to watch each one of my students reach their goals and become excited about their learning.
My Project
I am requesting bulletin board accents, nameplates, book bins, supply cups, caddies and craft containers. I have selected these colorful resources to help me in keeping materials organized, separate and sanitized.
In this pandemic, how we typically run our classrooms will need to be adaptable.
Our regular class routines will need changing and modifying. Children will need a place to store their individual supplies and books. Placing each child's name on labeled bins will allow me to have a special place for each child to call their own. The baskets are all bright and cheery and I know they will love storing their materials in them.
