My Students

Most of our students are from an urban area. They have chosen to attend our public charter school, to be a part of a school whose mission surrounds leadership, rhetoric, entrepreneurship, and debate, in a classical model, with twenty-first-century skills.

Our school receives one-third of the funding of a traditional public schools in our area from the state.

This creates an economic hardship for our school. As a result, we have a challenging time acquiring materials to support advancing our curriculum for our students.

My Project

By acquiring additional Chromebooks, students will be able to engage in collaborative projects and access digital content in all academic classes. At the present point, about 1/2 of our students bring their own devices. The other 1/2 of students don't have devices to bring to support their academic learning in their classes for research, writing, and collaboration in digital environments.

We currently have 4 Chromebooks in the building, and there isn't a day when all 4 are not signed out for teachers to use with students to support their learning across the curriculum.

We would like to increase access to these devices with five new Chromebooks so more students can benefit in the building. The current devices have been used in writing, science, and in foreign language courses this year.
