My Students

Our school saying is, "Better today than yesterday! Better tomorrow than today!" I want to make their tomorrow better!

My class consists of a diverse group of learners.

The socioeconomic backgrounds of our students are reflected in our 97% free or reduced-price lunch rate. My class has 26 second-grade students of varying abilities. I integrated a superhero theme into the classroom decor this year through various projects. I want them to feel like superheroes and heroines while they navigate our second grade standards throughout the year. As they reach a goal, I have them choose a superhero mask and they pose for a snapshot. This superhero/heroine area has become the fun spot for my learners.

I teach in an urban inner-city school, rich with diversity. Most of my students need additional learning materials to meet grade-level expectations. Please help me to make tomorrow better for them!

My Project

My students are energetic learners. They enjoy learning about the world around them. They are eager to discover new things.

We need a new center area with ABC floor rugs and Junior Bean Bag Chairs to allow more students a place to read and work.

We have 26 learners in our classroom. Each needs a spot to enjoy a good book! We have several spots in the room but we need a new area to invite another group of 6 students to engage in learning.

Having multiple places in the room for children to spread out and work helps with classroom management. I find that separating students into clusters allows for more focus and helps them to finish their work more effortlessly.

We love to read around the room with stuffed buddies! Having these new ABC rugs will allow for more areas for my students to enjoy a good book in the classroom.

We also love to complete our Math work in different areas in the classroom. Having new Junior Bean Bag Chairs will give us 3 more spots for our learners to complete their math work comfortably. Also having another ABC rug in the room will allow for more students to grab a lap desk and head over to that area for learning time.

Thank you for helping to make my room more engaging and inviting for my young learners! They are really off to a great start this year I want to give them more flexible seating to send them onto Third Grade with a solid foundation to be able to succeed.
