My Students

My 23 kids vary in ability from those overcoming learning disabilities to those that are high-achieving and/or gifted. Their socioeconomic status and ethnicity are as varied as their abilities. We set out not just to be successful students, but to be contributing members to our society! It is important that we teach the whole child. We must develop social awareness and connections as well as grow them academically. One way we connect is through our LOVE of reading. My kids love being read to every day.

My Project

We will focus on the themes, lessons, and fictional qualities of the popular book "A Wrinkle in Time"! While gaining literacy knowledge and skills, we will also grow as a community through team work, sharing of thoughts and beliefs, and understanding each other's feelings. As a teacher, I take pride in building a love to literacy. During our novel study, we will grow our love for reading and our community. We will finish our study with a trip to the theater to watch the soon to be released film based on the movie. My class and I would like to say thank you!
