My Project

In English 9 we work hard to get our students intriguing materials that will be excited to read! I had a student request a novel about soldiers. I told him I would see what I could do. This Walter Dean Myers novel is in our accepted supplemental curriculum!

A classroom set of this Walter Dean Myers novel Sunrise of Fallujah would give our five English 9 teachers an awesome new option, and better yet, it would make one freshman boy incredibly happy!

Trying to make each student feel seen takes us to interesting places. In this case it is taking us down a journey to increase our literature offerings! Walter Dean Myers is a phenomenal, prolific Black author. Having his title would make our English 9 course offerings infinitely better. It would also allow us to answer a request from a single student.
