My Project

I know my curious and imaginative sixth graders get DEEPLY invested in stories, especially books with fantasy, a little scariness, and plenty of adventure.

My awesome kids would LOVE a haunting fall adventure with rich character development, a strong narrative, and spooky characters who are not what they seem...

As a reading teacher, I also love matching books to the seasons, and Coraline is the perfect fall read. The dreary setting, unsettling antagonists, and adventure gone wrong will intrigue students while helping them identify and describe setting and its effect on plot, trace character changes throughout a text, and analyze the theme of gratitude. Help the coolest kids in town read a cool book that will certainly pique their interest!
