Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have the sweetest group of kindergartners and they all come to school so excited and ready to learn. They all come from different backgrounds. We are a Title I school where 100% of students receive free breakfast and lunch. This is the first year of education for most of my students and I want to foster a love for lifelong learning. I’d like to provide my students with everything that I can to help them be as successful as they can be.

My Project

A classroom rug is where students do most of their learning and our kindergarten classroom is in need of a new rug. The rug that my classroom came with has been well loved and filled with stains.

A new rug would help my students identify where their assigned seating spots are.

They would also be able to space properly during instructional time.

We spend our entire morning and time throughout the day on the floor. A new rug would be amazing as it would brighten up our classroom and promote a positive learning environment.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
