When the materials arrived my students were so excited to see what was inside the boxes. I kept everything a secret and set everything up on Lunar New Year and decorated our classroom in all red. One student even said \"This is the best day ever!\"\r\nWe used all the resources on the Lunar New Year. I set up the paper lanterns around the classroom and placed the red tablecloths on students tables in addition to chocolate coins in red envelopes. I was also able to place on their tables the fortunate cookies. Before students touched anything on their tables I taught them about the meaning of each item with a PowerPoint Presentation. Students were very engaged because of this.\r\nMy plan is to continue teaching my students about celebrations around the world. I believe that by creating presentations and providing them with realia or small incentives supports their engagement and participation.
