Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students range in age from 4 to 8. In my small classroom area I take 4-8 students at a time in small groups. Our building was built in the 1970's when the "open concept" was popular. This makes it hard to find space for my students to meet for our small group times. Recently, my students and I have moved to a wonderful small and cozy, but generally empty space.

My students are awesome and work so hard.

I want to give them a space that is inviting, warm, organized and free of clutter. At times they may struggle to focus and ignore the materials on tabletops that is currently ever present in my area. Having materials to make the space our own will help reduce the visual distractions in order for them to focus on their work and be comfortable in their space.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
