My Students

My students are a wonderfully diverse group of kids in a close-knit, supportive school community. They all have varying academic, behavioral, and personal needs; some need more challenging learning, some need more scaffolded learning, and some also have special needs that require more intensive interventions.

Our school population has grown every year I've taught here and there has been a growing waiting list every year.

The staff and faculty are amazing and collaborative, the parents are proactive and care about all the children, and the children are a sweet, caring group of kids.

My Project

As we approach another challenging year, social-emotional learning and keeping students happy and engaged are important to me. I would like students to continue to practice mindfulness. I would like students to do reflections on what they can be thankful for this year, even the very small things day-to-day! Students in my class have enjoyed the stress-relieving color pages, so providing them with these types of activities makes learning joyful. A big way to continue to encourage them is through prizes, the kids love the variety they get to choose from! Let's start 2022 right!
