A Magic Carpet Ride

My students need a new carpet for our classroom. The rug that is currently in our classroom was there when I moved into the room in September 2004. I really don't know how old it is.

I teach in a high poverty, title one school which has been hit hard by budget cuts. Since the coming year will probably be worse financially than any year that I have seen in my career, I am requesting help from any generous person who would like to help fund our magic carpet ride.

The carpet that is in our classroom is a mess. I have seen it go through 4+ classes of children. It is stained from some bodily functions, ink, juice boxes and numerous other things. The binding around the carpet is ripped in certain places. The carpet does not lay flat anymore. The children are uncomfortable sitting on it because it is so worn. We would really like a new place to take our magic carpet ride everyday. We would like to explore new worlds, read, hear stories, learn math, science, social studies and all of the other great subjects from a fresh, new carpet. The carpet that was picked has 30 squares on it so each student will have their own space to sit. Please help us fund this carpet. Due to current budget restrictions, the school can not afford to purchase a new carpet for us. Please help!

Please help our learning experience become a new magic carpet ride! The new rug will give each student their own space to sit. It will be new and smell fresh. It will brighten up the classroom and enhance our learning experience.

Your help will ensure my students a better learning experience. The room will be cleaner, brighter and free of germs and allergens that have been living on our carpet for years. It will help the students who suffer from allergies too!
