This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hello! I am a first year teacher. We are a Title I school; 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. A lot of students began the year with little to nothing in the way of supplies, so building up my classroom has been quite a task, especially learning what I need as a first year teacher.

Organization has been one of the biggest challenges so far this year!

I have some great ideas for how to improve that! "Mailboxes" for students to keep paperwork organized by student so we don't lose assignments. I also love the idea of leaving inspirational or motivational notes for the kiddos to discover, in line with our school's Capturing Kids Hearts program. The anchor chart stands will make it possible to create exemplars in the moment with the students. The adjustable desk would allow me to have my lessons organized and accessible for lessons near the Prometheon board. The folding table would be utilized for turn in baskets and stacks of may do and must do assignments, making it easy for students to stay on task when they finish an assignment with being overloaded with handouts all at once.

I am excited to implement these new ideas soon and provide more structure and organization for my kids!
