A Little Bit of Science, Art and Literature

Help me give my students a weather station, clay, and books for a bit of science, a bit of art, and a bit of literature.

My Students

Every student at our K-8 school is learning to have a growth mindset and is also learning to become a leader of their own education and lives. In other words, they come to school not only to learn but to grow their brains and to find their personal genius.

Our students come from a variety of ethnic backgrounds and income levels, yet they integrate seamlessly as a whole.

We have very caring students who have high goals for themselves, even though they know they face many challenges. We also have several special education classes specializing in teaching students with autism whom we integrate into our general education courses whenever possible.

My Project

A little bit of science: Weather is a key science standard for sixth grade. We will use the weather station to help us track changes in pressure, humidity and temperature which help students understand how these factors affect our daily weather.

A little bit of art: Students will be connecting working with clay to their study of ancient civilizations as we explore writing on tablets, sculpture and pottery.

And the book titles will help us expand our library to bring strong female characters and growth mindset to our students.

Sometimes projects aren't big, but they are important as they fill in the gaps in science, art and literature. Thank you in advance for helping me bring hands-on and minds-on learning to my students.
